Aquarium On Padded Carpet Is Wobbly

I have a 50 gallon saltwater tank. I have the thing set up on carpet and it seems to be a little wobbly. How a padded aquarium mat could save your tank. As for the tank on the hardwood floor i cut a very heavy gadge piece of plastic mat you can use one of those mats from office max that is used for rolling your computer chair on carpet.

I would like to try and prevent potential spills and long term damage to the carpet underneath the tank. You do not mention the type of flooring or if there is carpet padding.
